As hard as it may be to believe that summer is officially over, it does however mean that more and more people turn towards online poker during the winter months...

Thursday night sees the return of our infamous Stoners Versus Staff tournament, and we are thrilled to have Syracause Chris join us this week at Reefer Poker. Chris is a veteren poker player with a very impressive resume. Chris is a former soccer player who then became a top chef at one of New Yorks top country clubs. Chris is married with four children and started playing poker to supplement his income as a chef. Soon he relized that poker was becoming more profitable than cooking and bought his own club house to run poker games. Chris is a WSOP bracelet winner and has impressively cashed in over 100 major live events. Chris will be playing this Thursday night in both the Stoners VS Staff game as well as our Smoke the Competition league and will have a $100 bounty on his head during both games.


Belgian Poker Open Satellites 

With only a month, until our Belgian Poker Open Main event at Reefer Poker, this is a great time to really start promoting the BPO satellites.

WSOPE Main Event now into Day 2

As I am sure you are well aware, the World Series Of Poker Europe Main event is now into its second day.
The most notable thing of this event so far is by far the entrance of Phil Hellmouth, who showe up in a horse drawn chariot, accompanied by a truck load of woman! This is a great thing to blog about, as thousands upon thousands of poker playaers are reading up on the WSOPE numerous times a week!
Notable pros who made it through day one include Daniel Negranau who was nearly out at one point, Annette Obrestad, Phil Hellmouth, Barry Greenstein, Doyle Brunson, Mike Matusow, Dennis Phillips, and Howard Lederer.
Day 2 had just started at the worlds second most prestigious event with 176 individuals hoping to take home the bracelet!

1)      2009 WSOP Update

This time of year is always one of the busiest times for poker players, affiliates and operators alike.

Therefore, I have decided to focus my blog today on assisting you in not only attracting new visitors to your portals, but upon getting new visitors,  become successful in then converting these visitors into real money players at your partnered sites.

The 2009 WSOP main event has now finished its second full day, and from the 6494 players who paid the $10.000 to enter the year’s biggest event, 1724 players return today for the start of the third day.

Today is the first day that all players play together as day 1 is split up into A,B,C, and D categories and day tow being split up in to a Day 2A and Day 2B.

From today, players will now play it out until nine players remain which could take up to another weeks poker.

Affiliates, who want to gain more visitors to their site, portal and blogs, should be writing daily articles updating their members on this huge event.

Writing unique content about this prestigious event will in return get your site more recognition on google and there for see more visitors passing by your site. By making your content interesting will keep the visitors returning and obviously make you see more sign ups to the partnered sites you promote.

Another great tool to think of during the WSOP, is introducing some special promotions, setting up special tournaments and offering special incentives. This will certainly help you in the converting of players from visitors to depositors.

Finally, I would like to update you on some of my good friends who are currently playing in this year’s WSOP.

James “KrazyKanuck” Worth finished day 2 with just under $60.000 chips which puts him in a comfortable spot going into day 3, currently sitting at well over 50 big blinds.

Young Phan another friend has also managed to make it to day 3 of this event and is sitting at $46.800 chips.

The third person is probably unknown to you but there for not undeserving of a big mention! Thijs “Tilopoker” Huigars who is a good Dutch friend of mine will be starting day three on just under $50.000.

2)      CBG Affiliate Conference 2009

As many of you will know, numerous times per year, Affiliate conferences are organized for affiliates to have the chance of meeting the operators they choose to partner with or to make possible new partnerships.

Most of these conferences take place in Europe and I have been to many over the years, ranging from Las Vegas to London and many beautiful cities in between.

Well with many thanks to Judy Button aka casinobonusguy, this year will see the return of an affiliate conference that takes place on North American soil! The upcoming CBG affiliates conference which is open and free to all affiliates will take place at The Fallsview Casino and convention centre from July 24^th to July 26^th.

This event has been set up slightly differently than all the others, giving affiliates from North America the chance to meet some of the operators that they work with.

Reefer Poker will be one of the sponsors at the upcoming convention and I would like to invite anyone interested in joining us to please go to http://www.cbgaffiliateweekend.com/registration.html and register.

Upon arrival at this conference, more or less everything is paid for from drinks on the Friday night to meals the whole weekend to more drinks on the Saturday night.
